A 15-year-old Italian boy is in hospital after suffering a severe head injury while on a shopping trip in Argentina, according to the mother of his father.
According to local media reports, the boy, named as Alessandro, had arrived at the Guadalajara airport early on Saturday morning with his mother, Elena, after buying a few cheap dresses at a local department store.
“I came out of the airport and saw the ambulance, and then I saw him on the floor, with a head injury, in the ambulance,” Elena said.
“He didn’t have a pulse and there was blood everywhere, so I rushed him to the hospital.”
The boy was later transferred to the Guarulcanas hospital, where he is being treated for severe head injuries.
“The doctors are doing tests and I’m just taking it all in,” Elena told La Nacion newspaper.
“They’re saying that he’s not going to survive.
I can’t imagine what’s happening to this child, because he’s such a beautiful boy.”
It is believed the teenager suffered from a concussion and suffered the head injury when he fell while trying to jump from a second-floor balcony.
The boy’s mother Elena said that she had no idea why the boy had fallen and that the family were trying to find out more about the accident.
“We’re going to wait until we see him,” she said.
